The first movement of the string quartet is a constant flow of changing colors. Each change is led by one of the instruments, prompting the others to join. The other three miniatures are small ideas developed from the first one. By focusing on samll musical cells, each movement explores the ideas of familiar materials, logical shifts and unexcepted surpires.
